Sample size for observational study
WebAug 17, 2024 · Thus the sample size is 20 (= 4 × 5), the number of treatments is 4 (4 levels of temperatures) and there are 5 complete replicates of the experiment. Why replicates? When a treatment is repeated under the same experimental conditions, any difference in the response from prior responses for the same treatment is due to random errors. WebActually, the term is "Sample Survey" and you may search online for it. I think the difference lies in the aim of the three types of studies, sample surveys want to get data for a parameter while observational studies and experiments want to convert some data into information, i.e., correlation and causation respectively.
