Sure, it could be better -- compared with the previous games in the series it leaves a lot lacking. The important thing is, I think, that despite the smaller levels and simplified controls, the core gameplay is left intact. It's not the perfect Thief game, but it's a darn good one.

Theif deadly shadows was a fantastic game and i agree it would be nice to see it backward compatible.
